About Meltdown Artisan
Meltdown Artisan is run by owner and sole-operator Jen Lo. Each and every part of the business from emails, conceptual development, production and pack and send is managed by just two hands.
With a background in Visual Communications, in 2015, Jen left the world of design after working for several years in industry. She delved headfirst into her love of food—one home-based business, two retail shopfronts and a global pandemic later, she is now operating Meltdown as an e-commerce business out of a studio kitchen in the beautiful Blue Mountains of Australia. Pick-up is also available on Fridays and Saturdays from Meltdown's flagship kiosk located in the local book shop, RoseyRavelston Books, in Lawson.
The chocolate supply chain is one rife with problems—not just of sustainability, but also very real human issues, with many people being exploited and abused along the way. It’s the mission of Meltdown to talk about these issues and to encourage mindful consumption, knowing where what you’re eating is coming from and how it has been sourced.
In late-2022, Jen launched 'Just' by Meltdown Artisan—a bean to bar arm of the business, sourcing transparently traded cocoa beans cocoa beans from several different cocoa growing regions across the globe.
A less is more approach, with quality being at the heart of everything.

Everything Jen makes is so beautiful and these are no exception. From dreaming up the amazing and interesting flavour profiles to turning them into these lovely little bites, every step is considered and designed with thought, care and attention to detail. A lovely treat for yourself but also a gorgeous gift!
I’ve been a huge fan of the milk chocolate honeycomb clusters for a while. Now this amazing variation comes along and I’m torn. Guess I’ll have to buy both!!!
I saw Jen post these on instagram a little while back and was pleasantly surprised when there were still some available when I placed my order. The flavour in these little bites blew my mind. Such delicate flavours paired together in a flavour explosion.

These take you back to the days of another caramel animal but once you have these you will never look back. These are delicious!! My favourite and a regular in my orders! Love both the salted caramel and the yuzu caramel ones!
I’ve tried many different Meltdown products and none had ever let me down - so I finally ordered my first Bon Bon box and let me tell you…it was incredible! Not only is Jen a wonder one woman show, but she is one talented chocolatier! Jen put together the Bon Bon flavours in such a considerate, creative and utterly divine way that really showcased the offerings of the small local producers. Every texture and flavour was truly a delight - even my partner who usually prefers his chocolate relatively simple, just adored trying each different one - we took turns guessing which one we’d chosen to nibble on…it was delightful! Next month, go on, treat yourself - it is worth it!
Yum! Zingy citrus with toasty nutty bits in smooth milk choc - so good we had to stop ourselves eating it all in one go!
I bought this dark hot chocolate on a whim and am so glad I did! This is such a lush and delicious treat on a cold night. I love the flavour of dark chocolate and this was perfect. The chocolate bones and pieces melt really well. It's been so difficult to restrain myself from drinking this every night. I am definitely buying this again. Thank you for making such a wonderful treat!
